Slip Resistance Testing
We offer slip resistance testing of new and existing floors in conjunction with BHP Laboratories.
The method used is the Pendulum Slip Resistance Test (wet and dry) The pendulum device is portable and operates as follows:
The head of the pendulum is fitted with a rubber slider, which has a specified hardness and resilience. When released from a horizontal position, the pendulum head strikes the sample surface with a constant velocity. The distance travelled by the pendulum after striking the sample is determined by the friction resistance of the sample surface.
The skid resistance values are read directly from the clearly engraved scale.
This method of testing corresponds to the EN 13036 Part 4 standard.
